Travel Insurance

Let’s talk travel insurance now I know what you’re thinking. ‘Do I really need travelers insurance?’ Well, I used to feel the same way but let me tell you purchasing travel insurance is one of the most important things you can do when organizing an overseas trip. There’s absolutely nothing worse than having your flight canceled, losing your luggage, or even having your passport stolen, so having good travel insurance is a must.

World Nomads – Are a great travel insurance provider. I have used them for many trips and recommend them highly.

World 2 Cover – Are also a great travel insurance provider for Australians. They do 4 levels of cover depending on your budget and needs and are super easy to use.

Flights

When looking for the best deals on flights I have learned to check and see what’s around on multiple sites. There are endless travel websites all with their own special deals so you never want to just go with just one. See below my top travel websites that help me plan / find good flights.

Google Flights – is great for future price variations. Put in your desired date 3 months ahead and see what the cheapest and best price is for that destination.

Skyscanner – is my number one go-to and has never let me down. It always finds me the cheapest deals across the web. It also lets you save particular ticket prices and will alert you if prices increase or drop!

Kayak – Is another site that’s relatively easy to use. I sometimes look on here for great deals also. Kayak is great if you’re looking to book everything all in the one spot, flights accommodation, and car rental – DONE!

14 Travel websites to help plan your next trip

This is by far my favorite to research when it comes to planning a trip. I have also learned to not let every place dictate your travel experience. There have been many occasions where I have booked luxury accommodation and it not be all that it’s hyped up to be as to somewhere that’s cheaper and it be one of the best places I’ve ever stayed in.

Check out below my favorite travel websites for accommodation!

Travigo – When it comes to booking hotels I love to use Travigo. I like that it compares all accommodation websites in one place such as Bookings.com, Expedia and more. It also lets you search by rating, reviews, and maps.

Airbnb – I love Airbnb there’s no better place to stay and experience a place than in a local’s home. Whether you’re looking for a traditional Indian tipi to a penthouse suite in the city Airbnb has you covered.

Homestay – Another place I love to check out is Homestay very similar to Airbnb. I have found so many amazing places on here and even met some awesome people.

Glamping Hub – If you’re looking to switch things up a little bit I defiantly recommend checking out Glamping Hub. It’s all luxury camping at its finest you can choose from Indian tipis, yurts to safari tents and even caves.

Hostel world – For those on a bit more of a budget I highly recommend Hostel world. This is the best way to meet fellow travelers. They are located in more than 100 countries worldwide, have excellent reviews, and provide 24/7 customer service.

Helpful Tip!

If you find yourself booking regularly with a certain travel website look into becoming a member. The more times you book with them they will often give you rewards which can ultimately lead to FREE nights accommodation!

Wireless Wifi Service

When it came to my first time traveling the globe this was one of my biggest mistakes. Not having wifi service or data makes traveling and researching things a lot harder. It can also become a big safety concern. Being able to download maps, contacts, and addresses are not only super important but makes traveling a lot easier and stress-free.

Skyroam – Keeps you connected 24/7 this little beauty is great! It covers more than 100 countries globally and connects up to 5 different devices. It defiantly saves you a lot of time buying SIM cards in every country that’s for sure.

Transportation

Traveling is all about getting from one place to another and with so many transport options out there it can be hard to find what is the most efficient and affordable way about doing so. Here are a few of my favorite travel sites for transport.

Eurail – is defiantly one site to check out if you’re thinking of traveling through Europe. You can choose multiple train legs depending on your itinerary and destination. I used this for my first time traveling in Europe and it was amazing! There’s nothing better than traveling through the beautiful lush mountains and valleys of each country. It can also cover ferry rides too if you plan on visiting islands off the coast as well.

Rome2rio – This app is great! A friend told me about this before we left on our travels and we used it the entire trip. It lets you know the best route to your destination whether that being plane, car, train, etc., and the cost price. It can also save maps when you’re offline or have no wifi connection.

Rentalcars.com – Driving in another country is defiantly an experience like no other. It can seem a little daunting sometimes but having that freedom to be able to drive anywhere is great. I highly recommend checking out Rentalcars.com for great hire car prices.

Helpful Tip!

Don’t let hiring a car fool you into thinking that it’s a more expensive way of getting about and that taking the train or bus is cheaper. (In some cases this can be true). But often enough I have gone to book either of those options and hiring a car has turned out to be the cheapest and quickest route depending on the destination. Make sure you research all options and compare.
